Uttam Kumar Rooj Vs the State of Jharkhand

The petitioner- Uttam Kumar Rooj is in custody since 06.11.2022 in connection with Dumka Muffassil (Masanjor O.P.) P.S. Case No. 194 of 2022 for the offence registered under Sections 302, 201, 34 of the I.P.C. pending in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dumka.

As per the prosecution case, the deceased was driver of the truck which was hijacked and looted on highway. Later on, dead body was found which was identified by the wife of the deceased.

It is submitted by the learned counsel on behalf of petitioner that the allegation against the petitioner is that he had purchased the said truck and there is no evidence to connect him to the offence of murder.

Learned A.P.P. opposed the prayer for bail but not disputed the factual submission made on behalf of learned counsel on behalf of petitioner.

Under the circumstances, the above named petitioner is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/-(Twenty Five Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the Court below.
