The petitioner is accused in Majhaulia P.S. Case No.144 of 2013 for the offence under Sections 498-A, 323, 341, 448 and 504/34 I.P.C. and Sections 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
The petitioner happens to be the husband of the informant, Punam Devi. The allegation is that the husband (petitioner) and mother-in-law of the informant used to make demand of a motorcycle as dowry from the informant. On protest being made by the informant, they tortured and assaulted the informant and, ultimately, ousted her from the house. The petitioner appears to be in custody since 10.6.2013.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner, above named, is directed to be released on bail
