07.11.2016 Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Addl. Govt. Advocate.
The petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that, during rotational reservation of sea
ts for the ensuing Grama Panchayat Election, the office of Sarpanch of Motari Grama Panchayat
under Delanga Block in the district of Puri has been reserved for General (Women), though the
same should have been kept reserved for S.C. category.
Taking into consideration the facts and submission and without going into the merit
of the case or claim of the petitioners, this writ petition is disposed of directing the petit
ioners to file a detailed representation along with the certified copy of this order and a cop
y of the writ petition containing all the Annexures before the Collector, Puri (opp. party no.
2) and Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department (opp. party no.1). Whoever of th
e above authorities is competent to deal with the matter, shall dispose of the representation
of the petitioners within four weeks from the date of its filing, by passing a reasoned order
in according with the relevant rules and guidelines of the government. While disposing of the
representation of the petitioners, opportunity of hearing be afforded to all the parties conc
erned.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
