The office of the Sarapanch of Adenigarh Grama Panchayat under Harabhanga Bloc
k in the district of Boudha has been kept reserved for Unreserved (Women) category during the
rotational reservation of seats for the ensuing Grama Panchayat Election.
The petitioners want that the aforesaid seat of Sarapanch of Adenigarh Grama P
anchayat should be opened for Unreserved category according to the Governments guidelines and
Rules governing the field.
Taking into consideration the facts and submission and without going into meri
t of the case or claim of the petitioners, this writ petition is disposed of directing the pet
itioners to file a detailed representation along with the certified copy of this order and a c
opy of the writ petition containing all the Annexures before the Collector, Boudh (Opp. Party
No.2) and Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department (Opp. Party No.1). Whoever of
the above authorities is competent to deal with the matter, shall dispose of the representatio
n filed by the petitioners, within six weeks from the date of its filing, by passing a reasone
d order in accordance with the Orissa Grama Panchayat Act, 1964 along with other relevant Prov
isions. If necessary, opportunity of hearing be afforded to all the parties concerned.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
Urgent certified copy of this order be granted as per rules.
