 The petitioners are villagers of Village Basantapur, which was there under the
 jurisdiction of the old Grama Panchayat named Genguti in the district of Balasore. On bifurca
tion of Genguti Grama Panchayat, a new Grama Panchayat named Khan Nagar has been created and V
illage Basantapur has been brought under the jurisdiction of new Grama Panchayat Khan Nagar.
The petitioners, on the ground of proximity, administrative convenience and contiguity with th
e old Grama Panchayat, want that their village Basantapur should continue to remain under the
jurisdiction of Genguti Grama Panchayat.

 Taking into consideration the limited grievance of the petitioners and without
 going into merit of the case, the writ application is disposed of with a direction that the p
etitioners shall file a detailed representation along with a certified copy of this order and
a copy of the writ application containing all the Annexures before the learned Commissioner-cu
m-Secretary to the Government in Panchayati Raj Deptt. within 15 days from today.
 Learned Commissioner-cum-Secretary, P.R. Department is directed to consider th
e grievance of the petitioners within six weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy o
f this order. If necessary, the petitioners and other concerned parties may be given opportuni
ty of

 hearing in the matter and a reasoned order in consonance with the guidelines of the Go
vt. be passed by Commissioner-cum-Secretary, P.R. Department.
 The Notification vide Annexure- 1 so far as exclusion of Village- Basantapur f
rom Genguti Grama Panchayat is concerned, shall not be given effect to, till disposal of the r
epresentation of the petitioner by the learned Commissioner-cum-Secretary, P.R. Department.
 The writ application is accordingly disposed of.
 Urgent certified copy of this order be granted as per rules.
