The petitioner is an accused in connection with R.C. Case No. 05A of
2020-R.
The petitioner is the Area Finance Manager, CCL, NK Area, Dakra, Ranchi. It has been alleged that he had demanded illegal gratification from the complainant of Rs.4000/- for approving the tender committee recommendations. A trap was laid and Rs.2000/- was recovered from the petitioner, which was the tainted money. It has further been alleged during search of the house, Rs.10,92,600/-was recovered.
It appears that chargesheet has been submitted on 16.05.2020. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that an amount of Rs. 10,92,600/recovered from the house of the petitioner was the amount kept for the advanced studies of his daughter in a reputed college. It has further been submitted that the petitioner at present is the Chief Manager (Finance) in E-7 grade.
Learned counsel appearing for the C.B.I. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner.
Petitioner appears to have given a plausible explanation with respect to the amount, which has been recovered from his house. The petitioner is in custody since 21.03.2020.
Regard being had to the period of custody, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail, on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Ten thousand only), with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned A.J.C. cum-Spl. Judge, CBI, Ranchi in connection with R.C. Case No. 05A of 2020-R.
