The petitioners claim to be the DKT/CJFS assignees of small extents of lands ranging from Ac.0-33 cents to Ac.300. The Executive Engineer, SSLC & SB Division No.1, Nellore, addressed letter No.EE/SSLC&SB DnNo.1/DB/ITO/Gundavolu File/316, dated 18-52013 wherein he has referred to the names of the petitioners and the extents which were shown to have been assigned to them either as DKT or CJFS pattas in respect of the lands which were shown to have been submerged under the Kandaleru Reservoir of the Telugu Ganga Project. The petitioners’ claims for payment of compensation were considered by the Special Deputy Collector (LA), Telugu Ganga Project, and he has addressed letter in Rc.A67/2013 dated 6-6-2013 to respondent No.2 wherein he has informed that the Executive Engineer, SSLC & SB Division, has given requisition for DKT lands which were sub-merged under Kandaleru Reservoir in Gundavolu village of Rapur Mandal in various survey numbers mentioned therein. The Special Deputy Collector has requested respondent No.2 to

send genuineness certificates in respect of the DKT lands mentioned in the said letter. The grievance of the petitioners is that despite the said letter, respondent No.2 has not sent the genuineness certificates, in the absence of which the petitioners are not being paid compensation.

No counter affidavit is filed on behalf of the respondents. However, in the light of the correspondence referred to the above and the grievance of the petitioners, respondent No.2 is directed to verify the genuineness or otherwise of the DKT/CJFS pattas in respect of the survey numbers mentioned in the letter dated 6-6-2013 of the Special Deputy Collector (LA) and send genuineness certificates if he is satisfied that DKT/CJFS pattas were granted in respect of the lands in the said survey numbers to the Special Deputy Collector (LA), Telugu Ganga Project, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of this order.

Subject to the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of.

As a sequel to the disposal of the Writ Petition, WPMP No.22891/2013 filed for interim relief shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
