Punjab appears on behalf of State of Punjab.
The petitioners have moved this Court seeking Police protection on the ground that they have married against the wishes of their parents and relations on October 13th , 2011 and they now apprehend danger to their lives.
It has been contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that the parents/relatives of the petitioners are constantly threatening them for marrying against their wishes. Hence, they have no option but to knock the door of this Court for seeking Police protection. In this regard, they have moved representation (Annexure P-5) before Police authorities.
In this view of the matter, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar is directed to look into representation (Annexure P-5) and if there is any substance in it, may proceed further, in accordance with law.
Disposed of accordingly.
