The couple, Rani and Baljinder Singh, is on the run after tying the nuptial knot against the wishes of their parents and have moved this Court seeking protection from the Police as they apprehend danger to their lives.
It has been contended by learned counsel for the petitioners that the parents/relatives of the petitioners are constantly threatening them for marrying against their wishes. Hence, they have no option but to knock the door of this Court for seeking Police protection. In this regard, they have moved representation (Annexure P-5) before Police authorities.
Notice of motion.
Mr. Sudhir Nehra, Additional Advocate General, Punjab appears on behalf of State of Punjab.
In this view of the matter, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, is directed to look into representation (Annexure P-5) and if there is any substance in it, may proceed further, in accordance with law.
Disposed of accordingly.
