Prayer in this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., is for seeking protection to life and liberty of both the petitioners, who are stated to be major and have performed inter caste marriage on 20.8.2010 against the wishes of parents and maternal uncle (respondents no.4 to 6) of petitioner no.2-wife. Having performed marriage against the wishes of aforesaid respondents, now petitioners apprehend threat to their life at the hands of said respondents. It is further stated that the couple is residing at Dr.Dharampal Street, Street No.8,Goniana Mandi,Tehsil and Distt. Bhatinda; respondents 4 and 5 (parents of petitioner no.2) are residing at Rania Road,Phutela Cotton Factory,Sirsa and her maternal uncle (respondent no.6) is a resident of

After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioners and keeping in view the directions issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Lata Singh v. State of U.P. And another, JT 2006(6) SC 173, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to petitioners to present themselves before SSP, Bhatinda, and to make a detailed representation expressing therein their grievance and threat perception. In case, any such representation is made, the SSP concerned shall look into the matter personally and take appropriate action, if so warranted in accordance with law.
