5/19.02.2018 Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, learned counsel for the State and learned counsel for the informant.

The petitioner is an accused for allegedly committing offence punishable under Sections 498(A)/406 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner is the husband. The marriage had taken place 17 years ago. It is alleged that a sum of Rs. 2 lakhs was demanded by this petitioner-husband and due to non-fulfillment of the same the informantwife was tortured and driven out of her matrimonial house.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 07.08.2017and with a malafide intention, after 17 years of marriage this case has been filed.

Learned counsel appearing for the informant opposes the prayer for bail and submits that she has been ousted from her matrimonial house due to non-fulfillment of the demand of dowry.
