This contempt petition is instituted alleging wilful and deliberate violation of the order dated 05.05.2022 in WP(C) No. 2370/2017 wherein there is a direction to the respondents therein to pay a compensation amounting to Rs. 6, 00, 000/in favour of the petitioner.
In course of the proceeding, Mr. M Bhagawati, learned counsel for the respondent contemnor has produced a communication dated 04.03.2023 from the Assistant Inspector General of Police (A), Assam wherein it is provided that a cheque bearing No. 000363 dated 03.03.2023 for an amount of Rs. 6, 00, 000/- had been issued in favour of the Registrar General, Gauhati High Court in compliance of the order dated 05.05.2022 in WP(C) No. 2370/2017.
In view of the above, no further adjudication is required. The contempt petition stands closed.
The communication dated 04.03.2023 is kept on record.
