The present petition has been filed under Section 29A(4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for completion of arbitral proceedings and making of the arbitral record.

The learned sole arbitrator was appointed by this court vide order dated 28.04.2022 with the consent of the parties. It is submitted that the learned sole arbitrator has conducted the proceedings with expedition and dispatch, however, in view of the nature of the matter, some further time is required for completion of arbitral proceedings and making of the arbitral award.

The proprietor of M/s. Narayan Buildtech (the respondent) appears personally and submits he has no objection to the requisite extension being granted, however, he submits that the respondent has some difficulty in bearing the arbitral fees. Needless to say, this is an aspect that shall be duly considered by the learned sole arbitrator, if and when a request in this regard
