This petition was filed by the petitioner in the larger interest of the people, since the petitioner needs to challenge the selection list of the beneficiaries for allotment of funds for construction of wells under the scheme, “ Sinchan Vihirincha Dhadak Karyakram ”.
We had passed an order dated 19th March, 2014 thereby directing the Collector, Yavatmal to take specific stand as to whether the said Committee is willing to reconsider the selection process in view of the admission given by the Authority that the selection was not done in accordance with the Government Resolution dated 23rd January, 2009 and that it was done on the recommendations of the Hon'ble Guardian Minister.
In paragraph-3 of the affidavit-in-reply dated 1st April, 2014 filed by the Deputy Collector, Yavatmal, it is stated that the selection list of the proposed beneficiaries has been cancelled.
In that view of the matter, no purpose will be served by keeping this petition pending. It is accordingly disposed of.
