. The petitioner is B.Sc, B.Ed and he has acquired
additional qualification of M.Sc (Education
Communication). The petitioner is claiming the
post of Principal on the basis of this additional
qualification of M.Sc (Education Communication)
which according to him is equivalent to
M.A.(Education)/M.Ed. The Yeshwantrao Chavan Mukta
Vidyapeeth from where the petitioner has acquired
the qualification of M.Sc(Education Communication)
addressed a letter dated 27.l2.2002 specifically
stating therein that M.Sc(Education Communication)
is not equivalent to M.A.(Education)/ M.Ed or
Masters degree of other Universities. It is also
seen that the Shivaji .University has also
clarified by its letter dated l.l2.200l that
M.Sc(Education Communication) is not equivalent to
M.Ed (Master of Education) degree. It appears that
M.Ed is a Masters degree in education which is a
one year full time course prescribed by the Shivaji
University and two years course by the Yashwantrao
Chavan Mukth Vidyapeeth whereas the M.Sc (Education
Communication) is a correspondence course which is
equivalent to the refresher course of two weeks
each,as can be seen from the letter of the UGC of
September l993 and Government Resolution dated
l8.3.l998.
