Present petition has been filed with the following prayers:

"i) issue writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to decide the representation/objection filed by the petitioners dated 17.02.2023 and 20.02.2023 against the notice dated 21.01.2023 published in a daily newspaper Dainik Jagaran, Gorakhpur before further proceeding within a fix period (Annexure No.5 to the writ petition).

ii) issue writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned notice dated 21.01.2023 with regard to the petitioners as the land in dispute has already been exempted in a ceiling proceeding (U.P. Imposition of Ceiling on Land Holdings Act, 1961) (Annexure No.5 to the writ petition).

Considering the limited prayer, the present petition is disposed off directing respondents to decide representations of the petitioners dated 17.02.2023 and 20.02.2023 in accordance with law, with all expedition, preferably within a period of two months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.

Till the decision is taken, the parties shall maintain status quo in respect of title and possession.
