This writ petition has been, inter alia, filed for the following reliefs;

(i) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondent no.3 to take appropriate action against respondents no.5 to 8 in pursuance of the order dated 5.12.2018 passed by respondent no.2.

(ii) issue any other suitable writ order or direction in the like nature which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case.

(iii) Award the cost of writ petition to the petitioner.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel and perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondents no.5 to 7 in collusion with respondent no.8 have illegally granted agricultural and residential Patta to about 90 persons without following due procedure for granting patta. In this regard, the petitioner has filed a complaint on 31.10.2018 and 12.11.2018 before respondent no.2 for taking appropriate action against respondents no.5 to 8.

He has further submitted that respondent no.2 - District Magistrate, Jaunpur after considering the inquiry report dated 4.12.2018 submitted by respondent no.4, vide order dated 5.12.2018, directed respondent no.3 - Additional District Magistrate (F & R), Jaunpur, to take appropriate action in the matter but till date no steps have been taken by respondent no.3 and the matter is still pending since last more than six months.

In view of the above, we direct respondent no.2 - District Magistrate, Jaunpur to look into the matter personally and take an appropriate action in the matter, in accordance with law, after giving opportunity of hearing to the concerned parties. The said exercise shall be made within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of .
