Heard learned counsel for the petitioner; and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents 1, 2 and 3.

The prayer of the petitioner is to command the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for correction of spelling of her surname as appears in the High School Pass Certificate so that in place of Varma, Verma be recorded. The other prayer of the petitioner is that in the Intermediate Pass Certificate her surname be recorded against her name.

Such a prayer can be addressed by the second respondent (Secretary, Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Allahabad) after verification of the facts from the record. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file a comprehensive representation before the second respondent by annexing all the relevant documents to justify her claim. If any such representation is filed along with certified copy of this order, within a week from today, the same shall be considered and appropriate decision shall be taken, in accordance with law, after verifying the facts from the record as well as record of the institution concerned, within a period of three weeks from the date of filing of such representation.

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner.
