The grievance of the petitioners' institution is that large number of girl students are enrolled in the petitioners' institution and they would have to give their examination at a far away examination centre when, as per the policy, they ought to be provided centre within 5 kms. It is therefore the prayer that centre be re-allotted/re-allocated.
It is not in dispute that board examinations are to commence from the first week of February, 2018 and examination centres are to be fixed well in advance to ensure that no complication arise at the last moment. Even otherwise, no institution can claim as of right that it should be appointed as an examination centre.
The grievance of the petitioners that there should be re-allocation keeping in mind the guidelines issued by the State Government can always be examined by the authorities but any infraction of the guidelines by itself does not provide any enforceable right to claim for re-allotment/reallocation, because fixing of examination centres is a complex exercise in which multiple aspects are to be considered and therefore it would not be appropriate to interfere with allotment at this last stage.
This petition is disposed of without prejudice to the right of the petitioner to represent its cause.
