Section 71. Constitution of First Academic Council

Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (2) of section 29, from the appointed day until such time as the Academic Council constituted in accordance with the provisions of that sub-section holds its first meeting, the Academic Council consisting of the following members shall be deemed to be constituted for the purposes of this Act :-

(a) The Vice-Chancellorex-officio Chairman ;

(b) The Director of the University ;

(c) The Dean of Faculties ;

(d) Two Associate Deans to be nominated by the Pro-Chancellor ;

The Registrar shall be ex-officio Secretary of the Academic Council.
