CRIMINAL PETITION No.5576 of 2012
ORDER:
The petitioner is accused of the offences punishable under Sections 420 and 471 IPC. He was working as Village Revenue Officer, Burugupalem Cluster villages.
The allegations against him are to the effect that he included several lands in some of the pattadar pass books and title deeds of the villagers without there being
any basis for the same. He is alleged to have tampered the registers and records in the revenue office. It is contended by the petitioner’s counsel that the petitioner was kept under suspension and that departmental enquiry
was started against him under the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1991. Starting of disciplinary proceedings against the petitioner is no ground for granting anticipatory bail.
Having regard to the allegations of tampering revenue records when he was holding the office, I am of the opinion that this is not a fit case for granting anticipatory
bail.
Hence, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
