The only grievance of the petitioners is that their applications for grant of permit are not being adjudicated upon within the time frame as contemplated under the Rajasthan Motor Vehicles Rules, 1990 (for short, 'the Rules of 1990). Hence, the petitioners have instituted the present writ application praying for the following relief(s):

"i) direct the respondents to dispose off the applications submitted by the petitioners for grant of permit on city Route of Jodhpur namely BASNI TO GHANTAGHAT VYASH MADHUVAN BHAGAT KI KOTI BHARAV JI CHOURATA GOL BUILDING JALORI GATE SOJAT GATE ROUTE NO. 10 & 10A. Any other order which this Hon’ble Court deemed just and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case may also be passed in favour of the petitioner."

Counsel for the petitioners submits that what is prayed for, at this stage, is for an order deciding the applications for grant of permit within the time frame as per contemplation under Rule 5.6. and 5.7 of the Rules of 1990.

In view of the limited prayed addressed, instant writ application is closed with a direction to the respondents to dispose off the applications of the petitioners, in accordance with Rule 5.6. and 5.7 of the Rules of 1990, as expeditiously as possible; preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is presented.
