Instant petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India with the prayer to direct the respondents police officials to provide police protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners and their family members and also not to harass them in any manner.

Counsel for the petitioners has submitted that both the petitioners are majors and have been solemnized each other as

husband and wife. Counsel has further submitted that the petitioners solemnized the marriage against the will of their parents but they are living happily. Counsel has further submitted that the petitioners are having apprehension of danger of their life and liberty from their respective family members. Thus, police protection be given to them.

Learned PP has opposed the same.

After hearing the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners as well as learned PP for the State and after going through the contents of the instant petition, this Court is of the view that nobody can be permitted to take law in his own hands merely because marriage is not acceptable.

Consequently, the present petition stands disposed of by issuing direction to the SP, Jhunjhunu, SHO, S.P., Jaipur as also P.S Khetri, District Jhunjhunu to ensure necessary vigil that no harm is caused to the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of those, who are opposing the marriage.

The SP, Jhunjhunu, SHO, S.P., Jaipur as also P.S Khetri, District Jhunjhunu are also directed that as and when the petitioners submit any application for protection of their life, the same should also be given to them in accordance with law.

The above order has been passed by this Court without determining the age and validity of the marriage of petitioners on the ground that those, who are opposing the marriage, cannot harm to anybody.
