In the present petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the arrears of pension and other pensionary benefits alongwith interest @ 18% on account of delayed payment from the date of retirement of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that at this stage, he will be satisfied if a direction is given to respondent No.2 to decide the representation dated 28.08.2024 (Annexure P-7) submitted by the petitioners, in a time bound manner.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 28.08.2024 (Annexure P-7) by passing a speaking order , within a period of 02 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law. In case, the petitioner is found to be entitled to the relief as claimed in the representation as per law, the same be released within a period of two months thereafter.
