“…On 28.9.2007 complainant g ot the telephonic message tha t Kashmir Kaur is serious and is admitted in Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, complainant, his wif e namely Kartar Kaur, his so n Makhan Singh, Madan Singh a n d Mast Ram Immediately wen t to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala and all of us remained busy in he r treatment and care. Kashmir K a ur was brought to the hospita l in unconscious condition. On t he following day 29.9.2007, a f emale child was born by m ajor cesarean operation. O n 30.9.2007 Rajindra Hospital re f erred daughter of complainan t f or further treatment in P G I Chandigarh. On reachin g Chandigarh, Kashmir Kaur died and the dead body was brough t to her in laws house, the last r ites were performed there. Th e ceremony of last bath of de a d body of Kashmir Kaur wa s performed by Smt. Soma Dev i, Puro Devi, Khanj Devi, Khan i Devi, Jeeto and Gyan Kau r . The complainant got th e information that there were s o many black spots on her bod y as if she had been given beati n gs, fist blows injuries and kic k blows. They further informed t hat in the head, the skull, ha d been hit/deep pressed at som e place and this was the mai n injury which she became unco n scious and ultimately died. O n 20.12.2007, Darshan Ram in f ormed the complainant tha t Amrik Singh wanted to go abro a d and being not in a position t o arrange the money, the in-law s family decided to kill Kashmi r Kaur and to arrange second m a rriage so that sufficient amoun t may be taken. Said Darshan R a m informed that Kashmir Kau r has been virtually beaten and was murdered by Amrik Sing h and his family members and ot h ers. So long Kashmir Kaur live d in the house of her in laws, she remained under physica l beating, cruelty, mental tension and torture for b ring he r dowry and cash amount of Rs. 3 Lacs. All the accused hatche d criminal conspiracy in killing K a shmir Kaur. Hence the presen t complaint.”
