Petitioner has preferred this writ petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to dispose of the application of the petitioner dated 27.10.2022 for renewal of his Stage Carriage Permit.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is engaged in the business of transport as Stage Carriage Permit holder against Permit No.247/M/GSP which was valid up to 02.12.2019. The petitioner could not file the necessary application on the expiry of the permit due to Covid19 as the offices were also closed. The application was filed on 27.10.2022 and the same has not been decided so far.

Petitioner has also served a legal notice upon the respondent on 29.11.2022 and the same also has not been attended to.
At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied in case his legal notice dated 29.11.2022 is ordered to be decided by the respondent in accordance with law within a reasonable time.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. R.S. Pandher, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and submits that the legal notice of the petitioner dated 29.11.2022 shall be considered in accordance with law within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of.
