Mr. Amit Chaudhary, Addl. A.G., Punjab.
G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral)
Challenge in the present writ petition is to the order of the Director, Panchayats dated 23.09.2003 (Annexure P-1) and order of respondent no. 1 dated 29.10.2003 (Annexure P-2) whereby, he was placed under suspension under Section 20(3) of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 on account of lodging of an FIR against him.
Operation of the impugned orders was stayed on 10.02.2004 and the case was ordered to be heard after the decision of Criminal Revision No. 634 of 2006. In the said case, the petitioner-Devi Lal's sentence and conviction was upheld to the period already undergone vide order dated 21.03.2011.
Thus, the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous as
the term of the petitioner as Sarpanch would have long expired.
