 In this public interest litigation, the petitioner has

prayed that direction be issued to the respondents to remove the
encroachments on the national highway i.e. on Jalandhar-Pathankot
road. It has been averred that despite directions issued by this
Court on 9.7.2013 in CWP No.4559 of 2007 to remove all
encroachments on scheduled roads, the encroachments are still
continuing. It is contended that on account of encroachments, a

great inconvenience is being caused to the commuters and
incidents of accidents and congestions are on the rise.

 The petitioner has also submitted a representation on
6.9.2014 to the Municipal Commissioner which has been annexed as
Annexure P/6.

 After hearing learned counsel for the petitioner and
going through the paper-book of the case, we dispose of this writ
petition with a direction to respondent No.3 i.e. Commissioner,
Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar to look into the representation
filed by the petitioner and in case there are any encroachments,
as averred by the petitioner, then remove the same. A decision in
this regard be taken within a period of two months from the date
of receipt of certified copy of this order.
