The petitioner has filed the present petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of mandamus for directing the respondents to refund the amount of security to the petitioner, which was deposited by him for taking the shop on contract in the Bus Stand, Bathinda. The prayer made in the petition is that the said amount be released with interest @18% p.a.. 2. As per the averments made in the petition, the contract of licence came to an end on 31st August, 2010 and the vacant possession of the shop was handed over to respondent No.2 by the petitioner. However, the respondents after taking the possession of the said shop have failed to release the amount of security deposited
