Petitioners claim a writ of mandamus to release the agricultural land of the petitioners acquired by respondents No. 1 and 2 in the year 1980. A perusal of the writ petition shows that after the publication of notification under Section 4 and 6 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, Award No. 10 of 1981-1982, was announced and that the compensation awarded in the said Award has been withdrawn by the petitioners.
With the announcing of the Award and withdrawal of the compensation, the land vests with the State free from all encumbrances. Petitioners cannot seek release of the land under any provisions of law.
Dismissed.
