The petitioners have approached this Court, by way of instant petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., invoking it inherent jurisdiction seeking directions against respondents No.3 and 4 so as to ensure the compliance of the provision of Section 160 Cr.P.C.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitiones are being called to the police station time and again without any notice under Section 160 Cr.P.C. thereby causing unwanted harassment to the petitioners. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied in case Commissioner of Police, Amritsarrespondent No.3 is directed to look into the representation dated 19.04.2012 (Anneuxre P-5) already submitted by the petitioners, in this regard wherein the petitioners have taken the categoric averments in para No.3.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and to secure the ends of the justice, this Court is of the considered opinion that it is just and expedient to issue direction to Commissioner of Police, Amritsarrespondent No.3 to ensure the compliance of Section 160 Cr.P.C.

In view of the totality of the facts and circumstances of the present case, Commissioner of Police, Amritsar-respondent No.3 is directed to consider the grievance raised by the petitioners vide their representation dated 19.04.2012 (Annexure P-5), dispassionately and expeditiously, passing appropriate orders thereon, in accordance with law so as to ensure meticulous compliance of the provisions of Section 160 Cr.P.C.

With the observations made above, the present petition stands disposed of.
