Rita Walia had sent a telegram to this Court, on the basis of which, this writ petition has been registered. It is stated in the telegram that her son Gurvinder Singh alias Bunty, resident of Mullanpur, District Ludhiana, was picked up by the Kaunkey Police on 4.12.2010 at about 9.00 P.M.
Learned counsel for the respondent has filed an affidavit of Joginder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jagraon, wherein it is stated that on 5.12.2010, Gurvinder Singh alias Bunty was arrested and from his personal search 15 Kgs of contraband poppy husk was recovered and case FIR No. 254 dated 5.12.2010 has been registered at Police Station Jagraon, under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and on the next day the detenue

was produced before the Illaqa Magistrate who was remanded to police custody for one day and lateron he was remanded to judicial custody. Since the detention of the detenue was lawful, no directions are called for and the present writ petition is disposed of.
