The present writ petition was registered on the basis of a telegram received from Karamjit Kaur, wherein it is stated that her husband Satnam Singh was arrested by the police of Police Station Dakha, on 26.10.2010.
A written statement has been filed by Jasdev Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dakha, District Ludhiana (Rural), wherein it is stated that Satnam Singh, husband of the petitioner, was arrested in case FIR No. 163 dated 26.10.2010, under Section 15/61,85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 as 5 Kgs and 200 grams of poppy husk was recovered from his possession. He was produced before the Illaqa Magistrate on 27.10.2010 and was remanded to judicial custody.
