Heard Mr. S.K. Tripathy, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Government Advocate.

The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking direction to the opposite parties to give priority to their qualification i.e. Diploma in Animal Science pursuant to letter dated 20.10.2018 issued by the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar and the decision so taken thereon may be implemented in the recruitment of Livestock Inspectors and they further seek direction to opposite party no.1-Secretary, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department to take early decision on letter dated 20.10.2018 under Annexure-3 issued by the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar.

Mr. S.K. Tripathy, learned counsel for the petitioners contended that the petitioners have acquired

Diploma qualification in Animal Science from OUAT, Bhubaneswar. Though they are eligible and have applied for the Livestock Inspector posts pursuant to advertisement issued under Annexure-1 dated 30.07.2021, they are aggrieved by the stipulation in clause-2 of the advertisement because of non-inclusion of Animal Science as qualification for recruitment to the post of Livestock Inspector. It is contended that the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar has already recommended the Government vide Annexure-3 dated 20.10.2018 for inclusion of Diploma in Animal Science of Agro polytechnic Centre qualification for recruitment of Livestock Inspector (L.I.) post, but the same is still pending for consideration.

Considering the contentions raised by learned counsel for the petitioners and after going through the records, this Court disposes of the writ petition directing opposite party no.1 to take a decision on the recommendation made by the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar vide Annexure-3 dated 20.10.2018 for inclusion of Diploma in Animal Science of Agro polytechnic Centre qualification for recruitment of Livestock Inspector (L.I.) post as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of 8 (eight) weeks from the date of production of authenticated/certified copy this order.
