2 26.04.2021 Heard Mr. S.Ray, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Dhal, learned Addl. Government Advocate through video conferencing mode.

According to Mr. Ray, the petitioner belongs to BPL category and was issued a work order on 23.12.2016 under the “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin)” at Annexure-2 for constructing a house. Vide self-same sanction order he was sanctioned Rs.1,20,000/-. Pursuant to the said order, the petitioner was given first installment of Rs.20,000/- and according to him though the petitioner completed the construction within the time period as prescribed under Annexure-2, however, till today the balance amount of Rs.1,00,000/- has not yet been released. He further submits that though highlighting all his grievances, the petitioner has approached the Block Development Officer, Chandbali (opposite party no.3) on 9.2.2021 under Annexure-3, however, till date nothing has been done on the same. In such background, he prays that a direction be issued to the said opposite party to take a decision on the above noted representation within a specific time period.

Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Block Development Officer, Chandbali (opposite party no.3) to take a decision on the above noted representation of the petitioner under Annexure-3 in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and communicate the result of such exercise to the petitioner.
