procedure of drawing the lot from among the names in presence of Ward Members and representative of Self Help Groups. The Ward members present in the meeting should not suggest any name for selection of Asha. The names should be suggested only by women Self Help Groups. The proceedings of the meeting will be recorded by the ANM with the support of the facilitator and the same would be signed by all those who attended the meeting. The name of the selected Asha support document and the copy of the resolution of the meeting will be forwarded to the Block Medical Officer. Thereby, following the above procedure, seven candidates have applied to be considered for Asha in respect of Jaring-III village. As per the selection procedure, meeting was held on 12.08.2009 in presence of the designated Nodal Officer, i.e. Medial Officer incharge, C.H.C.-II, Bijepur, ANM, the Anganwadi Worker, the office bearer of different SHG for women of village Jaring. Seven numbers of applicants including the petitioner and opposite party no.4 have participated in the selection procedure. The office bearer of Patameswari S.H.G., Indira S.G.H., Baibhabalaxmi S.H.G. of village Jaring unanimously recommended the name of opposite party no.4 to be selected as Asha for Jaring-III. The designated Nodal Officer, taking into consideration the recommendation of the different S.H.G. for the larger interest of the public in general, selected the opposite party no.4 and all the members including the petitioner and opposite party no.4 have appended their signature. Thereby, the selection to the post of Asha has been done in accordance with the guidelines issued by the authority. Consequence thereof, the opposite party no.4 has been appointed in the said post.
