The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1^st respondent Sub-Registrar to complete the registration process, assign a regular document number to Pending Document No. P/Selaiyur/206/2026, and release the registered document to the petitioners within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioners purchased the property situated at Plot No. 210, measuring an extent of 1,800 sq.ft., comprised in Survey No. 709/5, covered under Patta No. 13797, situated at Madambakkam Village, Tambaram Taluk, Chengalpattu District, by virtue of a Sale Deed dated 15.05.2026. The said Sale Deed was presented for registration before the 1^st respondent. However, despite the completion of all statutory formalities contemplated under the Registration Act, 1908, the 1^st respondent kept the document pending under the category of pending documents without assigning any valid reason. Aggrieved by the statutory inaction on the part of the 1^st respondent, the petitioners have approached this Court by way of the present Writ Petition.

In response, Mr.M.Roshan Atiq, learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents, submitted that the respondents would consider and register the document in accordance with law within a period of two (2) weeks.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the

submissions made on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to complete the registration process of the subject Sale Deed presented by the petitioners, assign a regular document number, and release the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There
