This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents, particularly the

4th respondent to consider the petitioners representation dated 11.01.2024.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the property comprised in T.S. No. 78/4, Ward No. 1, New Door No. 66, Dafadar Muthusamy Street, Tirupattur District, measuring an extent of 1,112½ sq. ft., originally belonged to the petitioner’s wife. Subsequently, by way of a registered Settlement Deed, she settled the property in favour of the petitioner, who thereby became the absolute owner and has been in continuous possession and enjoyment of the subject property for over 20 years. While matters stood thus, the owners of the adjacent lands were all granted patta under the classification 'Natham House Site'. Despite the petitioner’s lawful title and continuous possession, patta has not been issued in his favour. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 11.01.2024 to the Tahsildar, Tirupattur Revenue Taluk, seeking the issuance of a patta. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court.

notice on behalf of the respondents would submit that the petitioner’s representation dated 11.01.2024 will be disposed of by the respondents within a period of six weeks.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned

Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above, this Court directs the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 11.01.2024 on its own merits and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Such disposal shall be made after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and shall also take into consideration the fact that the petitioner has been in continuous possession of the subject property from 2006 to date

6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
