2. The petitioner purchased the vacant land bearing Old No.17, New No.146, measuring an extent of 12 cents in S.No.54/1A2B and 18 cents in S.No.54/1A32 totally 30 cents in Agaramthen Village, Tambaram Taluk, Chengalpattu District, along with pathway rights under sale deed dated 25.07.2023 in Doc.No.6103/2023. Whileso, the petitioner applied for reclassification of the land along with requisite documents and also paid necessary fees for constructing a residential building.

In response to the petitioners application, the second respondent on 07.05.2024, issued a letter to the petitioner seeking certain particulars including a document flowchart, FMB, remarks of the Local Body and questionnaire of the proposal and a correspondence address. Meanwhile, on 02.07.2024 the 4 th respondent vide his letter in RC.No.1606/2024/A4, informed the second respondent, that the inspection report and the questionnaire were satisfactory and therefore recommended approval of the proposal for reclassification. Thereafter, there was no action on the side of

the respondents and hence the petitioner sent several reminders on 03.06.2024, 26.12.2024 and 05.02.2025. Later, the petitioner also sought for information under the RTI Act on the reclassification process. On 3/9

20.06.2025, the 2 nd respondent vide letter No.G/PIO/970182 furnished information under RTI to the petitioner. Since no action was taken on the petitioner's application for reclassification, even after a lapse of 1 ½ years, the petitioner filed the above writ petition.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents 1 & 6 and the learned standing counsel for R2 & R3. With consent of both counsels, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

In view of the above facts and circumstances and considering that the petitioners application dated 26.12.2023 for reclassification of the lands is kept pending for more than 1 ½ years without any action, this Court is inclined to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 26.12.2023, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of 12 weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court vide order dated 10.07.2025, disposed of the writ petition in WP No.25078 of 2025. The learned counsel further submitted that respondents address in the cause title differs from the addresses mentioned at the end of the order and hence prays for appropriate orders.
