J U D G M E N T

The petitioner, who is the daughter of an employee who died in service while working as a Lab Assistant (Senior Grade) at Newman College, Thodupuzha, has preferred Ext.P5 representation before the 1^st respondent seeking appointment under the compassionate appointment scheme. It is her case in the writ petition that, she was initially granted the benefit of an appointment under the scheme, but the order of appointment was subsequently cancelled. It is under these circumstances, that Ext.P5 representation has now been filed before the 1^st respondent seeking a reinstatement of the petitioner in service. The limited prayer of the petitioner in the writ petition is for a direction to the 1^st respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P5 representation after hearing the petitioner.

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Pleader for the respondents 1 and 2 and the learned Standing counsel for the 3^rd respondent University.

On a consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case as also the submissions made across the bar, I direct the 1^st

respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P5 representation within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, after hearing the petitioner. The petitioner shall produce a copy of the writ petition along with the copy of this judgment before the 1^st respondent for further action.
