6/13.11.2019 Heard Mr. Sudhansu Kumar Deo, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. Ravi Prakash, learned Special P.P. for the State.
The petitioner is an accused in connection with Margomunda P.S. Case No. 67 of 2018.
It has been alleged that the marriage of the daughter of the informant was solemnized with the petitioner five years ago. It has been alleged that after two and half years, there was a demand of Cow and utensils. Subsequently, there was a demand of Rs. 50,000/- and a motorcycle. It has been alleged that the daughter of the informant was murdered on 06.08.2018. Although the FIR was instituted under Sections 304(B)/201/34 I.P.C., but after investigation, charge-sheet was submitted under Sections 498(A)/306/34 I.P.C. The petitioner appears to be the husband of the deceased. In course of investigation, the witnesses have stated about the frequent quarrel between the petitioner and the deceased. One of the witnesses namely, Bani Mandal who statement has been recorded in paragraph 7 of the case diary has revealed that the deceased was in a reminiscent mood before she took plunge in the well.
Regard being had to the above, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
Accordingly, this application stands rejected with a direction to the learned trial court to conclude the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. If the trial is not concluded within the aforesaid period, the petitioner is at liberty to renew the prayer for bail.
