Apprehending his arrest, the petitioner has moved this Court for grant of privilege of anticipatory bail in connection with Daltonganj (Town) P.S. Case No. 373 of 2018 registered under Sections 323, 498A, 379, 494 of the Indian Penal Code, section 3/4 D.P.Act.

The learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the allegations against the petitioner is that after the marriage, informant- opposite party no. 2 was ill-treated by the petitioner in connection with demand of Pajero car to be brought by the informant from her father and when the informant intimated about the inability of her father to meet the said demand because of his poor financial condition, she was subjected to physical and mental torture. The informant intimated the same to her grandfather over the telephone and consequent upon that when the family members of the informant came to the house of the petitioner, the demand of the car was also made in their presence and when they expressed their inability, they were abused by the petitioner and his family members but the physical and mental torture on the informant continued. When the grandfather of the informant, accompanied by others went to the house of the petitioner, they were also ill-treated and abused. The complainant finding no other alternative came to the police station but the petitioner and his family members snatched away her stridhan .
