Petitioner is an accused for allegedly committing an offence punishable under Sections 18, 20 and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

It is alleged that the petitioners were cultivating poppy in the

forest land.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 07.12.2017 and there is no criminal antecedents of the petitioner.

Keeping in view the period of custody of the petitioner, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, namely, Shibu Ganjhu, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Principal District Judgecum-Special Judge, Chatra in connection with Kunda Police Station Case No.07 of 2017 corresponding to R.N.F. 239 of 2017, with a condition that the petitioner will appear and mark his attendance before the Officer-inCharge, Kunda Police Station, Chatra once in a month, and in the event the petitioner fails to appear before the Officer-in-Charge, Kunda Police Station in any particular month, bail bonds furnished by the petitioner shall stand cancelled and the concerned police will take necessary steps for arrest of the petitioner again.
