Heard the parties.
It reveals from the written report that some miscreants opened fire on the clinic of the informant in order to terrorise him. A sum of Rs.1,50,000/has been demanded as rangdari and for that the informant received calls from two mobile numbers, the details given in the F.I.R. During investigation complicity of the petitioner has come in light and he has been remanded to jail custody.
It is submitted that no transaction has taken place. Nothing incriminating has been recovered from possession of the petitioner. Similarly situated co-accused Mahfooz Alam has been granted bail vide B.A. No. 7231 of 2014.
Counsel for the State has opposed the prayer and submitted that petitioner was in contact with those mobile numbers which were used for making extortion calls.
Be that as it may, no transaction of money has taken place and the petitioner has already remained in custody for more than six months and co-accused has been granted bail.
Considering aforesaid aspects of the matter, I feel inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Consequently, the petitioner named above is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand), with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Daltonganj (Palamau) in connection with Chhatarpur P.S. Case No. 91 of 2014 [G.R. No. 971/2014].
