The present petition has been filed under Section 29(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent on advance notice does not oppose the aforesaid request.

It is stated by the counsel that the arbitration proceedings are at the stage of final hearing and are likely to be concluded shortly.

To be noted, this is the seventh extension being sought by the parties for extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Taking into account that the matter is at the final stage, I am inclined to grant a further extension of six (6) months, as sought by the parties.
