This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (‘1996 Act’) seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator by a period of six months.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to a Contract dated 17.09.2008, which was renewed from time to time and lastly in 2018 for a period of three years, Sole Arbitrator was appointed to adjudicate the disputes. Mandate of the Arbitrator was extended by this Court vide order dated 09.04.2024 in O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 292/2024 by a period of six months and subsequently vide order dated 15.01.2025 in

O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 1007/2024 for a further period of six months, which has expired on 15.07.2025. It is stated in the petition that arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, for which the learned Arbitrator has fixed the date of 22.07.2025.

Ms. Aastha Trivedi, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent and on instructions, submits that Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the Arbitrator.

Accordingly, with the consent of the parties, mandate of the Arbitrator is extended by a period of 06 months from 16.07.2025.

Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
