. Heard the learned counsel for petitioner and the learned Government Pleader so also the learned ASG.

2 The petitioner seeks relief with regard to the disabled persons that the disabled persons should be vaccinated at their doorsteps so also directions are sought to provide financial assistance to the persons with disabilities for their livelihood and survival.

3 From time to time this Court has passed the orders during

each hearing. The cause put forth by the petitioner was the need of

the hour. The affidavits are filed by the State from time to time responding to the queries made by the Court and the difficulties put forth for the better vaccination policy to the disabled persons.

4 Affidavit has been filed today. Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the

affidavit read thus:

“2. I state that, the vaccination facilities are made available at each and every rural hospital as well as the primary health centres and sub-centres situated in the rural areas. So far as the differently abled persons, who are not in a position to approach the above mentioned vaccination centres, the data in respect thereof is already collected by the authorities through the Health Workers, Anganwadi Sevikas and Asha Sevikas and on the basis of said data, the teams formed by the Government authorities consisting of doctors, medical officers, health workers, ANM, Asha Workers are providing the vaccination facilities to the differently abled persons at their door step and near to home.

I further state that, considering the population of particular villages, the authorities are arranging the vaccination camps, more particularly, in the villages, wherein the primary health centres or sub-centres are not available. Based on population, one or two vaccination camps are being arranged by the authorities in the particular villages. Such camps are being arranged at the panchayat office or community centres in the particular villages. The authorities are also taking care of the persons who are differently abled or residing alone and the follow-up is being taken post vaccination through the Asha Workers and other Health Workers

including ANM, AWW, Volunteers, Panchayat and ward committee members, etc. Therefore, the authorities are taking each and every step to see that, every strata of the society would get the vaccination at the place, convenient and nearer to his house and in some cases, at the door step of citizens.”

5 In view of the affidavit filed, it is clear that the respondents are taking steps for vaccinating the differently abled persons at their doorsteps.

6 We hope and trust that the said efforts shall continue till all are fully vaccinated.

7 With regard to the prayer clause (C), the State Government may take decision as may be permissible and in their wisdom it is found necessary and fit.

8 With these, the public interest litigation stands disposed of.

No costs.
