The Collectors of Thane and Raigad are present in Court.
They have filed affidavits with complete details. It has been stated in the said affidavits that all the unauthorised brick kilns had been stopped and they would not be permitted to carry on the business of brick kilns. It is further reiterated at the Bar that not even a single brick kiln is operating in both these districts and the Government shall

ensure that no such brick kilns are permitted to operate in future in these areas. It is not in dispute before us that it is not permissible to run any brick kiln in those areas. In view of the affidavits filed and the assurance made on behalf of the State, we do not consider it necessary to keep this petition pending any longer before this Court. Consequently, this writ petition is disposed of with the above observations. The State shall abide by its statement.
