Heard Sri Lokendra Kumar Gupta, the learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri Pankaj Srivastava, the learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State and perused the records.

By means of the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India the petitioner has sought a direction to the District Magistrate, Lucknow to renew the fire arm license of the petitioner. The petitioner had submitted a renewal application on 04.09.2024. The police report has been submitted on 09.09.2025

Rule 24 of Arms Rules lays down a timeline for disposal of renewal applications with regard to arm license.

The learned A.G.A. states that an appropriate decision will be taken on the petitioner's application for renewal of arms license expeditiously.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of by issuing a direction to the District Magistrate, Lucknow to take an appropriate decision on the petitioner's application for renewal of arms license expeditiously in accordance with law keeping in view the provisions of Rule 24 of Arms Rules, 2016.
