Shri Vikas Rai, the learned Standing Counsel for the State of U.P. states that this writ petition has been filed seeking direction for expeditious disposal of petitioner's gun license. The petitioner's application already stands disposed off by means of an order dated 09.01.2026 whereby the petitioner's application has been rejected.

The petitioner now has the liberty to challenge the rejection order by filing appeal in accordance with law.

Accordingly, the present petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.
